A Reminder to Take RMDs from Annuities ASAP

Insurance companies are notorious for slow processing. Furthermore, companies have different rules on how they'll process an RMD request received by x date in December. It might be the date they send the RMD out, the date they process the RMD request, or the date the paperwork is received in good order... Moral of the story, I wanted to send a brief reminder to get paperwork in sooner rather than later to avoid the potential of a missed 2026 RMD.

BONUS #1:

A link to Ed Slott's top 10 RMD mistakes to avoid for 2026 along with the top 3 we hear from advisors:

https://irahelp.com/top-10-rmd-mistakes/

1.  If you're RMD age, you still have to take RMDs from IRAs even if you're still working.
2.  QCDs are not limited to your RMD. It's any amount up to $111k regardless of IRA size.
3.  IRAs can be aggregated for RMDs, but RMDs from 401ks must be taken separately.

Bonus #2:

The Secure Act 2.0 allows annuitized IRA money to satisfy RMDs for other IRAs. Here's a link to Fidelity's write up that gets into all the details:

13.25% S&P Annual Cap (Fee Based)

MassMutual Ascend's Index Protector 5 tops the charts for fee-based growth.

  • 13.25% S&P annual cap

  • No surrender charges (5 year MVA)

This product becomes even more attractive if interest rates come down. A declining rate environment would positively affect the client's cash surrender value since an MVA works like a bond.

11.50% Joint Income at Age 65

A 60 year old couple depositing $100k is guaranteed $11,500/yr of joint life income starting at age 65 with Corebridge.

To put that into perspective, they'd need to earn 7.29% each year for the next 30 years if they wanted to generate that high of cash flow in the market and have the money last until they're 90 years old.

Using the least amount of money to generate the most income allows more money in equities compounding without adding portfolio risk.

10% S&P Cap Guaranteed for 10 Years

Revol One has removed the two biggest problems with accumulation FIAs:

Rate Renewals: The annual cap is contractually guaranteed to stay at 10.00% for all 10 years.

Indexes that Don't Perform: The index is the actual S&P 500. Not some hyped up index.

Led by mid 2000s CEO of Allianz, Mark Zesbaugh, Revol One's focused on delivering high consumer value annuities.

*Rates may be subject to premium banding. Products may not be available in all states. Replacement must be suitable and meet all requirements.
